Traditionally, during production the purifier catches the heaviest vapours which means that Ardbeg is not just “all peat” but gets a supremely balanced taste.
For the release of this batch the purifier was removed from the distillation process before being matured in classic Ardbeg casks. And this whisky is the consequence.
Ardbeg wash distilled without the purifier & matured in classic Ardbeg casks - Heavy Vapours have risen, making this dram the most full-blown Ardbeg ever.
