In 2027, Award‑winning filmmaker, photographer, and expedition leader Chad Brown is hosting a 10‑day immersive workshop inside the Arctic Circle — one of the most powerful, pristine, and culturally rich landscapes on Earth.
This June, Chad is giving a free presentation at Pro Photo Supply to provide insight into the world of remote workshops!

ABOUT CHAD BROWN
An award-winning photographer, filmmaker, Navy veteran, conservationist, and social entrepreneur with a passion for storytelling and protecting wild spaces, Chad's career has been defined by a unique fusion of creativity and advocacy. It has been shaped by his journey of service—to his country, the environment, and underrepresented communities.
Chad holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design and Photography from American Intercontinental University – Atlanta, GA, and a Master of Science in Communication Design from Pratt Institute in NYC. These foundations have played a vital role in his ability to combine visual storytelling with impactful advocacy.
As the founder of and , Chad strives to empower BIPOC and Indigenous communities while safeguarding vulnerable ecosystems. Whether behind the camera or at the forefront of conservation efforts, his mission is to amplify voices, inspire action, and create meaningful impact.
Chad has led over 30 expeditions into the Arctic Circle, becoming the first African American to hold a backcountry guide permit for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. He testified on Capitol Hill before Congress, advocating against oil drilling in the Arctic Circle alongside the Alaska Wilderness League and the Gwich’in Nation. Chad stands in solidarity with Indigenous Arctic nations and continue to support their cause.
Beyond conservation and adventure storytelling, he has also contributed to underground hip-hop, fashion, and culture. Collaborating with hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons (founder of PhatFarm) and Rasheed Young (VP of Run Athletics) to photograph and develop creative ad campaigns for national hip-hop culture magazines.
Chad's work has extended internationally, producing company brand films and photography across Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and Vietnam—capturing the essence of global industries and cultures through visual storytelling. He has also been a contributing photographer for The New York Times Magazine, further cementing his dedication to impactful journalism and artistic expression.
As an award-winning documentary filmmaker and photographer, Chad remain's committed to elevating stories that inspire change and preserve the beauty of our planet. From the Arctic tundra to urban landscapes across the world, his work reflects a deep commitment to human connection, cultural resilience, and environmental stewardship.
