Több átszervezett és lemondott turné után most már tényleg Budapestre érkezik a death metál legzúzósabb vancouveri képviselője, az Archspire. A kanadai banda vendégeként fellép a Psycroptic, a Benighted és az Entheos is március 23-án, az Analog Music Hallba.
Az ötösfogat bár tizenöt éve alakult, a sikert és a hírnevet főleg a 2017-es Relentless Mutation című album hozta el számukra - meg persze az, hogy Jason Momoa az egyik kedvenc zenekarának tartja őket. Ezutóbbi nem csoda, hiszen az elképesztően kemény gitártémák és a tűpontos dob mellé olyan ének párosul, hogy az énekes Oli Peters torka megkérdőjelezhetetlenül egy külön hangszerként kíséri a többiek játékát. Ugyan a zenekarnak két gitárosa van, Dean és Tobi általában összesen 15-16 húron koptatják tompára a pengetőket, így alkotva teljes egységet az extrém sebességgel, amit a dalok diktálnak. A srácok persze az első sikereket követve egy percre sem álltak meg, a lezárások idejét kihasználva stúdióba vonultak, és megírták legutolsó lemezüket ’Bleed the Future’ címmel, amivel sorra nyerik a zenei díjakat hazájukban, Kanadában.
Aki nem a kanadaiaktól szeretne felforrósodni, azoknak három előzenekarral szeretnénk kedveskedni, akik hasonlóan messziről érkeznek majd hozzánk. Itt van rögtön az elcsatolt ausztrál államból, Tasmániából idelátogató Psycroptic, akik páratlan szereplőjévé váltak egy rejtélyes világméretű mozgalomnak, amelyet death metal néven ismernek. Sok év telt el 1999-es megalakulása óta, ezalatt a bandának hat albuma jelent meg, amelyek mindegyike szerves fejlődést mutat egy olyan egyenes úton, amelyről soha nem tértek le. Legújabb ‘Divine Council’ néven megjelent lemezükön újszerű hangzásra számíthatunk: a több énekvariáció és a felfokozottabb dallamvezetés megmutatja, hogy ezek a tasmán srácok valóban a stílus nagymesterei.
Ezen az estén Európát a francia Benighted képviseli, akik a francia death és black metal bandák Dishunanized, Darkness fire és Osgiliath tagjaiból jött létre, hogy 1998-ban egyesítsék erőiket egy brutálisabb, súlyosabb és modernebb kifejezésmód érdekében. Amikor 2000-ben elkészült az első saját gyártású, saját névre keresztelt albumuk, az azonnal akkora hatást gyakorolt a hallgatóságra, hogy az amúgy mellékprojektnek szánt bandából végül sokkal több lett. A gyorsan növekvő rajongótábort elismert albumok sora építette fel, melyekből a legutolsó a 2020-as ‘Obscene Repressed’, amiről remélhetőleg minél több dalt játszanak majd az Analog Music Hall színpadán, mert az egész lemez őrült jó!
Az est amerikai képviselői az Entheos lesznek, akik egy progresszív death metal duó a kaliforniai Santa Cruzból. Énekesük Chaney Crabb, és minden az éneken kívül Navene Koperweis nevéhez köthető, akit emiatt multiinstrumentalistának is nevezhetünk. Ha úgy érzed, a zene nem elég hangos, akkor még nem jöttél elég közel. Találkozzunk március 23-án az Analog Music Hallban, Budapesten!

Jason Momoa's favourite band performs at Analog Music Hall
After several rescheduled and cancelled tours, Archspire, Vancouver's most banging death metal act, is coming to Budapest for real. The Canadian band will be joined by Psycroptic, Benighted and Entheos on 23rd March at Analog Music Hall.
Although the five-piece formed fifteen years ago, their success and fame has been largely due to their 2017 album Relentless Mutation - and of course the fact that Jason Momoa considers them one of his favourite bands. The latter is no surprise, as the incredibly heavy guitar melodies and pinpoint drumming are matched by vocals that unquestionably make singer Oli Peters' throat a separate instrument from the others. Although the band has two guitarists, Dean and Tobi usually pluck the strings on a total of 15-16 strings, creating a complete unity with the extreme speed the songs dictate. Of course, after their initial success, the guys didn't stop there, taking advantage of the lockout period to go into the studio and write their latest album 'Bleed the Future', which has won them a string of music awards in their native Canada.
For those of you who don't want to be warmed up by the Canadians, we've got three opening acts who will be joining us from equally far away. First up is Psycroptic, from the remote Australian state of Tasmania, who have become an unrivalled player in an enigmatic worldwide movement known as death metal. Many years since their formation in 1999, the band has released six albums, all of which show an organic evolution along a straight path from which they have never deviated. On their latest album, 'Divine Council', we can expect a new sound: more vocal variations and a more upbeat melodic line-up show that these Tasmanian guys are truly masters of the style.
On this night, Europe is represented by French band Benighted, formed in 1998 by members of French death and black metal bands Dishunanized, Darkness fire and Osgiliath, who joined forces to create a more brutal, heavy and modern expression. When their first self-produced, self-titled album was released in 2000, it immediately made such an impact on listeners that the band, which was intended to be a side project, eventually became much more. A rapidly growing fanbase has built up over a series of acclaimed albums, the latest of which is 2020's 'Obscene Repressed', which they hope to play as many songs from as possible on the Analog Music Hall stage, because the whole album is crazy good!
The American representatives of the night will be Entheos, a progressive death metal duo from Santa Cruz, California. Their vocalist is Chaney Crabb, and everything but the vocals is by Navene Koperweis, who can be called a multi-instrumentalist for that reason. If you think the music isn't loud enough, you haven't come close. See you on March 23rd at Analog Music Hall, Budapest!
