Archiving the Block: A Songwriter's Study & Listening Party

Join us at the Black Panther Party Museum for a special Black Music Month songwriter’s study and listening party with Unocoolbro and friends! Together, we will spend time listening deeply to selections from his upcoming album Black Gentrification, engaging music as both artistic practice and community dialogue.

Through guided conversation, close listening, and creative reflection, participants will explore songwriting techniques, storytelling, and the ways music can imagine new relationships to land, space, memory, and Black collective futures. Rooted in themes of reclaiming community, ownership, and empowerment, this gathering invites attendees into an intimate process of listening, learning, and creating together.

Whether you are a songwriter, poet, musician, or someone who simply loves music and language, this workshop offers space to think alongside the work, ask questions, and experience new writing practices in community.
