Rodney Kite-Powell, director of the Touchton Map Library, and Heather Culligan, curator of collections, will use maps and artifacts to showcase Tampa life in 1924. The event will be held Thursday, July 18, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Tampa Bay History Center, 801 Water St. The program is limited to 20 guests.Free, though registration is required.

Recognizing the need to document and preserve Tampa’s development and unique heritage, the City of Tampa Archives was founded in 1987.
Archives Awareness Week was established in 1992 by the City of Tampa Archives Advisory Committee. During this week, local archives present their collections through exhibits and programs that highlight the value of archives in identifying, preserving, and conserving historical records.
