The Pavilion on Water invites viewers on an aesthetic and poetic journey into the imagination of Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa, highlighting his deep passion for Japanese culture. Inspired by impressions from Japanese philosopher Ryosuke Hashi, the narrative unfolds along the thread of a central question: What is beauty? This reflection bridges Scarpa's works with traditional Japanese aesthetics, offering opportunities to recall the poetic and emblematic episodes that defined his life. Throughout, the narrative is infused with a sense of nostalgia for the rare phenomenon of an artist’s birth.
