// About the Film:
"To Build Law" is a documentary directed by Joshua Frank and conceived alongside curator Francesco Garutti. The film follows the Berlin-based architectural practice bplus.xyz (b+) and station.plus (s+) as they develop HouseEurope!, a policy lab advocating for systemic change in the construction industry. Their work centers on a European Citizens’ Initiative, promoting renovation over demolition and new construction, framing architecture as an open process shaped by legislation, storytelling, and community engagement.
// About the Director and Curator:
Joshua Frank is a filmmaker whose work explores architecture, urbanism, and the built environment. Francesco Garutti, a curator and editor, examines architecture’s intersection with contemporary culture, policy, and media. Together, they bring a critical perspective to the evolving role of architecture in shaping legal and urban frameworks.
This screening is made possible through the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA), which has provided the film as part of its ongoing engagement with architectural discourse.
The CCA gratefully acknowledges the support of the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec, the Canada Council for the Arts, and the Conseil des Arts de Montréal.
The event will be hosted by Zoltán Neville of the MOME Architecture.
Continuing education credits are available through the Hungarian Chamber of Architects. For professionals interested in credits, registration is mandatory:
