The international workshop aims to explore transformations of literature from the perspective of mutually modelling relations between literary and altermedial systems. We are particularly interested in the differentiation and mutual entanglements of the temporal regimes of human and machine reading procedures and signification.
We also suggest examining different media logics with regard to the fundamental temporal and embodied nature of human perception. Literature, as it seems, requires and contains its own specific temporality, and today it offers an alternative to technological understandings of reading and cognition as the processing of information and the accumulation of data. Another question of interest is the extent to which literature, within its own history, anticipates future technics.
We invite interested scholars to participate in discussion.
The event seeks to establish an international research network under the guidance of the Institute of Czech Literature AS CR and the Institute of Czech and Comparative Literature of Charles University.
