Discover the fascinating story of Naukratis, a multicultural port city founded by Greek traders in Egypt’s Nile Delta around 610 BCE. Excavations from the 19th century to recent digs by the British Museum reveal sanctuaries, houses, and workshops that bring to life a vibrant community where Greeks, Egyptians, Carians, Cypriots, and Phoenicians lived and traded together.
