Originating from the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia, ethereal beatsmith Saturna has an artistic voice unlike any other. By drawing inspiration from a plethora of sources, Saturna has crafted a stirring and enigmatic production style that blends meticulously carved soundscapes with irresistible grooves. Saturna is a sonic story-teller who weaves layers of deeply emotive melodies and organic rhythms with cinematic flair.
By tapping into the deeper realms of organic bass, Saturna strives to lead his listeners into bold and perplexing new frontiers. As a lifelong musician, the Canadian producer is dedicated to stitching together narrative threads into a tapestry of distorted synths, warm throbbing basslines and lush percussive elements. Smooth, sonorous, and cleansing, Saturna’s sounds oscillate between dreamy ballads and kaleidoscopic voyages.
Connection is the focus of Saturna’s live performances. By incorporating emotional touchstones in his music, Saturna develops strong connective bonds with his listener. Eclectic is an understatement when trying to describe the sound of Civillian. While
always staying true to his roots in Hip Hop, his taste and collection have expanded
massively to allow him to become a party-rocking chameleon - no situation outside of
his scope. Beside his proven taste and wide range in selection, his ability to work in
elements of Turntablism into a dance-floor friendly set is what separates him from other
DJ’s. Whether it’s the main stage, an impromptu sunrise set, house party or
underground rave, Civillian is always prepared.
The last 3 years have showed no signs of slowing down for Civillian - highlighted by
festival appearances at Shambhala’s Grove Stage (2022/2024), Bass Coast
(2023/2024), Pachena Bay (2022), and Wicked Woods (2022/2023/2024), he becomes
a requested staple everywhere he plays. Beyond the Western Canada Festival Circuit,
he made his Commodore Ballroom Debut opening for
The Funk Hunters
in Vancouver,
and with club performances from Calgary to Victoria, there was no corner of Western
Canada or hour in the day where he did not have the people moving. 2023 also saw
Civillian’s debut in the US with shows in Jackson Hole & Reno. Beyond the stage his
wide ranging recorded studio mixes have created a cult like following on SoundCloud,

his monthly Twitch livestream that has run for 3+ years accruing a
loyal fanbase, and launching a successful weekly night in Vancouver called DICE! which
he hosts and curates local guests.
While always striving to entice the dancefloor with sounds both new and familiar, his
uncanny versatility combined with the biggest grin on the west coast has truly made
