Arca Arcade offers a unique fusion of nostalgic technology and contemporary artistry. Crafted by designer Preston McNeil, these playable, wall-mounted arcade machines are embellished by renowned artists from Aotearoa New Zealand, featuring Flox, Gina Kiel, Otis Frizzell, Joe Sheehan, and Otis Chamberlain. This exhibition emulates the visual and auditory experience of stepping into a video arcade from the 80s and 90s, reimagining how we can appreciate the golden era of video gaming as modern pieces of art. Arca Arcade offers a fresh perspective on what retro arcade gaming can look like today.
