About this Event
Neighbours, Friends, Residents, Owners, and School Families,
Please join us for an important community conversation about the proposed 25-storey tower at the current Telus parcel. We’ll be hosting a brief presentation from former City of Vancouver Senior Urban Designer, retired architect, neighbourhood advocate, and former chair of the Kits Citizens Local Area Planning Committee, Scot Hein; who also played a key role in shaping the award-winning Arbutus Walk development. This will be an evening of thoughtful discussion, grassroots planning, and good old-fashioned civic engagement.
St. John’s School has generously offered their space so that our immediate neighbourhood can gather, share concerns, and organize a coordinated response to the rezoning application, soon to be in front of Council.
This is not a NIMBY meeting. It’s a gathering of residents who care deeply about our neighbourhood and want to raise legitimate, evidence-based concerns about a level of density that simply cannot be supported on this constrained block. Our goal is to bring the community together, align on clear messaging, and press Telus/Ledcor and City staff to reconsider this proposal in favour of a lower-rise development that better fits the context and planning principles of Arbutus Walk.
We hope you’ll join us.
