Greenfield Village is home to witness trees — trees that were present for historical events and remain decades or centuries later.
As part of The Henry Ford’s 2024 Arbor Day celebration and Earth Day week, join us for a witness tree walk led by Jim Johnson, director of Greenfield Village and curator of historic structures and landscapes. We will visit several of Greenfield Village’s sentinel witness trees, identify their species and take measurements and calculations to determine their age. Have your phone calculators ready, so we can run the numbers together to discover some surprising results.
The tour begins at 1 p.m. in front of the Wright Cycle Shop and is free for members or with Greenfield Village admission.
