Join us for a very special Pride Month edition of Dykes n Hikes in collaboration with the Charlotte Museum Te Whare Takatāpui-Wāhine o Aotearoa and the Arataki Visitor Centre! This event combines history, connection, and Te Taiao for a wholesome Saturday outing you won’t want to miss.We’ll begin at the Arataki Visitor Centre, where we’ll take time to explore an exhibition curated by the Charlotte Museum Te Whare Takatāpui-Wāhine o Aotearoa, celebrating queer stories and history. From there, we’ll embark on a leisurely 1-hour walk along the beautiful Arataki Nature Trail. The walk includes a visit to the serene ‘Kauri Cathedral,’ a breathtaking spot perfect for soaking in the surrounding beauty.
After the walk, we’ll regroup to share some kai and refreshments, creating space to connect with fellow attendees and celebrate our wonderful community during pride month. See you there!

📍 Location: Meet at the Arataki Visitor Centre, 300 Scenic Drive, Oratia, Waitakere 0604
⏰ Time: Meet between 09:30AM and 10:00 AM, walk starts at 10:05AM (1-hour duration for the walk, plus museum time and refreshments).
What to Bring:
Comfortable walking shoes
Water bottle
Sun-protection (sun-block, hats etc)
Any additional food you’d like to bring
Any required medication (inhaler etc)
Some adventure and community spirit
