About this Event

You will leave holding four pieces you made.

Not bought. Not knitted by someone else. Made — stitch by stitch, with your own hands, over four Saturday afternoons in Dublin.

You have been meaning to slow down. This is what slowing down feels like.

Aran Island · ARAN

The Aran Islands sit at the edge of the Atlantic off the west coast of Ireland. For generations, the women there knitted wool into cabled, textured garments — jumpers, scarves, gloves — built to withstand weather, work, and time. Each stitch was practical. Precise. Made to last a lifetime.

Aran Crochet is this tradition brought indoors, onto a quiet table on Nassau Street, for four Saturday afternoons. Real wool between your fingers. A small group. Good company. Four pieces by the end of it — gloves, a scarf, a hat, knee warmers — that you will actually wear.

Your hands busy. Your mind happy. That is the whole thing.

I · II · III · IV · THE FOUR AFTERNOONS

I · Saturday 30th May · Gloves We start with gloves. Fitted work, shaping around the hand — the kind of project that helps you find your own tension and rhythm. You leave with a finished pair that fits your hand.

II · Saturday 6th June · Scarf The cabled stitches the Aran tradition is known for. This is the afternoon your crochet starts to look really beautiful. The texture is unmistakable.

III · Saturday 13th June · Hat Working in the round, with a little shaping. A gentle step up from the scarf — and a quick one. You walk out wearing it.

IV · Saturday 20th June · Knee Warmers The final piece. Warm, fitted, and genuinely lovely to wear. By the time these come off the hook, you are not someone who took a crochet class. You are someone who crochets.

A LITTLE NOTE ON LEVEL

This course moves a little faster than a true beginner class. If you have held a hook before — even once, even badly — you will be fine. If you have taken an Amigurumi class or taught yourself from YouTube, you are more than ready.

If you have truly never crocheted before, message me before you book and I will help you decide. Sometimes the answer is yes anyway.

THE EXPERIENCE

Ten people, no more. Small on purpose — so there is time for everyone, help when you need it, and quiet when you don't. I teach every session myself, sitting with whoever is stuck and giving everyone else space to find their own rhythm.

This is not a class. It is four Saturday afternoons that belong to you.

BEFORE YOU TALK YOURSELF OUT OF IT

You are already thinking of reasons this is not for you. You are not crafty enough. You are not far enough along. You will be the slowest one in the room.

Every single student who has ever walked through the door thought exactly the same thing.

Every single one of them left with something they made.

You will be fine. More than fine.
