We’ve heard the first cuckoo, the clocks have sprung forward,
it’s time now to clear out our Literary Cupboards!
About this Event

At this month’s Literary Salon we’re having a joint discussion on what’s coming up in our literary lives in the coming months and – indeed – the rest of the year. The main purpose of the Salon is to bring people together to meet other literary folk, share ideas, discuss and debate, and generally socialise with those of like mind.
Led by members of our Steering Group, we’ll be springing forward to see what plans and proposals people can give us as we prepare our ongoing programme of monthly events. To help us listen to our audience, we want to hear what you as Salon Attendees would like to happen, what themes we could explore, what sort of events we may hold.
We’ll pop them all in a basket and read them out anonymously. If anyone would like to approach us directly to volunteer help or ideas, the Steering Group will be on hand.
We’d also like to hear about our members’ spring cleaning plans. What exciting writing is in the pipeline, is there a shelved project that needs dusting off and relaunching? Will the longer evenings lead to finally reducing that TBR pile, or will the shifting yardarm interfere as the pop of prosecco bottles overpowers the cuckoo!
As usual The Outhouse are hosting us, and we’ll be in the Function Room. Grab a drink from the downstairs bar, come up and fill in a name-label so we know who you are, and our icebreaker will assist in mingling if you’re new to the Salon.
The style of this month’s Salon doesn’t lend itself to livestreaming, but we still want feedback from those who can’t be with us in person, or who regularly join by Zoom. Just go to https://www.edinburghliterarysalon.org/contact-us and send us an email with suggestions. We will share these thoughts and ideas with everyone at the Salon.
How it works...
6.30pm: Reception at the Outhouse Function Room
6.45: Icebreaker Quiz Announcement
7.pm: Spring Clean and Spring Forward discussion
7.30: Answers to Quiz, and Notes of Interest
7.35: Further Mingling
All Salon Events are free. We invite donations, or encourage people to buy us a coffee to help fund our work, buy our books, or contribute to our crowdfunder.

Accessibility Notice
Edinburgh Literary Salon is open to all those with an interest in all aspects of Literature, whether professional or personal, and to all parts of the industry: writers, publishers, booksellers etc. All are welcome, and events have free registration. While we aim to hold some events at accessible venues, our regular salon is in an upstairs room at The Outhouse. We strive to ensure adequate audibility, and straightforward registration. We invite positive feedback on how we can improve, even within our limitations as a non-funded organisation. We welcome open conversation.
