Since 2014 Dania has served thousands of hours volunteering with many organizations in Southeast Texas and Gulf Coast communities. Today her goal is to share the importance and impact Citizen Science has in our environment and how volunteering is crucial to the future of wildlife around the world. She currently serves as President of Golden Triangle Audubon Society and a volunteer for Texas Ornithological Society's "Sabine Woods Bird Sanctuary."Through observation, visual storytelling and advocacy she hopes to spread awareness of the birds and wildlife of many areas in Texas specially the Golden Triangle where she resides. Dania believes that with the help of visibility and education current and future generations can learn a new appreciation for birds and improve quality of life. You can see her work through tourism brochures, social media, publications, travelogues and public speaking events. Dania also has served a a bird guide and field trip leader in many areas of Texas.
In 2024 Dania embarked on a wild adventure called the Texas Big Year leading the year with 512 identified species of birds. Dania is the only female in Texas history of observing and documenting 500+ species in one year multiple times all while continuing to advocate and support conservation efforts that protect wildlife habitats. Dania has also served as a bird guide and field trip leader in the Southeast Region of Texas.
