April First Friday: "Spacial Awareness" by Rif Raf Giraffe

For his latest solo exhibition, Spacial Awareness, Rif Raf Giraffe has taken his interdimensional play to the next level - or perhaps to the next galaxy.  Always a fan of a good double entendre, the title serves multiple purposes and leads one to consider as many meanings as planes of existence.  The paintings in this series, developed over the last year, engage playful and near-blindingly bright compositions to lead viewers on an interstellar voyage across the visual spectrum and beyond. 

The depth of this series also serves as a double entendre of sorts: planets, icons, and other symbolic shapes float, recede, and otherwise mingle throughout layers and layers of various paint mediums, inviting viewers to embark on their own journey inward as their eyes travel from element to element.  Spacial Awareness seeks to find and create balance amid chaos - a concept as old as time, yet one that resonates deeply within this current timeline that the Earth is living through.
