Hi Everyone,
April can be a beautiful weather month or a still rather chilly dull month with gardens growing but not blooming so April's outing this year to Lincoln with a chance to discover the beautiful city which dates back to Roman times.
Lots to do and see at Upper Lincoln or take the open top bus or walk down Steep Hill to Lower Lincoln and discover their marina and shopping area.
Charabanc Outing Thursday 30th April
We are off this month to Lincoln, a beautiful cathedral city. So what is there to see and do?
A stunning Lincoln Cathedral built 1092 and still dominates the skyline of Lincoln. It was for 300 years the tallest building in the world.
Lincoln Castle built by William the Conquerer in 1068 and housed Victorian prisoners.
A chance to see one of the four original surviving Magna Cartas written in 1215 and housed in Lincoln Castle
The Usher Gallery, Lincolnshire's premier art gallery thanks to James Ward Usher huge bequest in 1927
The Museum of Lincolnshire Life, showcasing every aspect of life in Lincolnshire since 1750.
John Dawber Gardens, not large and cared for by volunteers and plants supplied by Kew Gardens.
Enjoy an Open Top Bus tour of the city with commentary.
Discover the Heritage Trail, self guided, guide supplied by Tourist Information Centre £2, one of Roman Lincoln and the other of the City of Lincoln.
The coach drop off is in Upper Lincoln close to the main attractions with a 3-4 mins walk to the Cathedral (which has a good refectory) and 5-6 mins to the Castle.
Cost £18 which includes the coach travel and driver's tip.
To book just email me to look forward to an excellent interesting day in beautiful Lincoln.
Trish
