Known for its “searching musical insight” (Chicago Tribune), the Boston-based Borromeo Quartet is one of the most celebrated American quartets performing today. They share their own arrangements of famed Preludes and Fugues by Bach and Shostakovich, Stravinsky’s Three Pieces for String Quartet, and compelling contemporary works by Caroline Shaw and Vijay Iyer before being joined by pianist Anne-Marie McDermott, “one of the great American pianists of her generation” (Philadelphia Enquirer), for Robert Schumann’s lyrical and exuberant Piano Quintet.
