Appreciation Picnic
About this Event
Join us for a joyful outdoor Mass and multicultural appreciation picnic honoring Fr. Bob Washabaugh as he celebrates his 75th birthday and begins a new chapter in his priesthood.
Throughout his ministry, Fr. Bob has worked to build unity among people of different cultures and languages. This special celebration will reflect the Church’s beautiful unity in diversity, bringing together our English-speaking, Hispanic, and Haitian communities for prayer, fellowship, food, and entertainment.

Schedule
- 11:00 a.m. — Outdoor multicultural Mass celebrated in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole
- After Mass — Entertainment and guest speakers reflecting on life in culturally and linguistically diverse neighborhoods and parishes
- Approximately 1:00–1:30 p.m. — Picnic meal featuring traditional favorites and a few surprises
Seating
A limited number of chairs will be available, especially for guests with limited mobility. Because the celebration will be picnic-style, attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs.
Picnic Registration
A donation of $15 per adult is requested to help cover the cost of the meal. Children under 10 may eat free. Please register in advance if you plan to join us for food.
Birthday Gifts
In place of personal birthday gifts, Fr. Bob asks guests to consider making a donation to St. Mary Church in his honor. St. Mary’s is an immigrant parish currently facing extraordinary financial challenges. Your generosity will provide meaningful support to the parish and its community.
A clearly marked donation basket will be available during the celebration. Please include your name with your gift so Fr. Bob can thank you personally.
