We're excited to bring you two amazing features this month:
Krista Carson is a London, Ontario poet, writer, and educator completing a PhD at the University of Gloucestershire, where she explores the role of walking in creative writing practice. Her work often engages nature, place, and culture. Her poetry has recently appeared in Walking in the Dark: An Anthology of New Writing, Petal Projections, and Out of the Woods: Voices from the Forest City. She lives with her husband, daughter, whippet, and cat.
Growing up in a family of hardcore readers, it’s no wonder Brenda Martin developed a lifelong, insatiable word fetish. And it isn’t strictly a desire to string words together to form stories. Letterforms really turn her on. (Whatever you do, if she’s in ear shot, don’t even whisper “Helvetica”.) By day, she massages messages to sell products. But in the half-light between dark and dawn – or those rare moments when there is no one else in the universe – Bren writes her words. No BS. No spin. Just the residue of life that clings to her naked soul.
