About this Event
This panel discussion is part of the NEO Studio Program: Applying for Arts Opportunities Workshop Series. Hosted by Katie Butler, the program is designed to help artists prepare application materials for grants, residencies, graduate programs, exhibitions, and other career-advancing opportunities.
The panel will feature:
- Andrew Kuebeck, Professor and Graduate Coordinator at Kent State University

- Thea Spittle, Curatorial Coodinator at SPACES
Guests will hear about these panelists' experience considering candidates for opportunities such as exhibitions, residencies, and graduate programs. The discussion will be focused on how to make your application stand out: advice for artists, common mistakes to avoid, and insights into what reviewers may be looking for.
The discussion will be held at Katie Butler's studio in downtown Akron, Ohio. It is free, but registration is required. Doors open at 5:30pm and the discussion will begin by 5:45pm.
