Join Butte County CERT at 202 Mira Loma (Klamath Room) in Oroville, between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm during one of the following scheduled dates, to apply for a no-cost ALERT FM receiver.

ALERT FM receivers are designed to deliver emergency alerts issued by the Butte County Sheriff’s Office without reliance on electricity or cellular service. Each receiver operates on Micro-USB power with a single AA-battery backup, capable of lasting up to three weeks without external power, ensuring continued communication during crises.
The receivers will be provided free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible community members living in the following areas: Bangor, Berry Creek, Butte Creek Canyon, Butte Meadows, Butte Valley, Clipper Mills, Cohasset, Concow, Forbestown, Forest Ranch, Magalia, Stirling City, Honcut, Palermo, Robinson Mill, South Oroville, and Yankee Hill.
Income Eligibility: Households must fall at or below the CDBG 80% Area Median Income Limit, or be “LMI” in the “Moderate” category, for Butte County. The most recent income limits are available at https://www.hcd.ca.gov/funding/income-limits/state-federal-income-limits/cdbg-home-nhtf.
