New Jersey students in Grades 4-12 are invited to apply to participate in this Student Research Poster Contest.
About this Event

New Jersey students in grades 4 – 12, are invited to enter the Sickle Cell Association of New Jersey’s Student Research Poster Fair Contest. The purpose of the research contest is to engage the community in better understanding Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER). Participating in the research contest will give students the opportunity to conduct research, learn more about sickle cell disease (SCD), help raise awareness about SCD as well as become young advocates as they present the information gathered from their research.

All participating students will conduct research on the sickle cell related research topic listed below using reliable resources. After conducting research, each student will create a presentation poster board to present the information and explain their findings. Students should display their information neatly on a poster board (see poster guidelines) and be prepared to verbally present the poster. The posters will be judged by a prestigious panel that includes individuals with sickle cell disease, scientists, and health care professionals.

All selected participants will receive a certificate of accomplishment. Winners per age category will receive Scholarly Merit Awards (3rd place winner will receive $100, 2nd place winner will receive $200 and 1st place winner will receive $300.)

Full guidelines will be emailed to all who apply by Oct 20th.
