About this Event

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Participants do not need any formal training to attend the workshop.

The training begins each day on Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct 6-7) at 9am and ends at 5pm at Sharing Life Community Outreach in Mesquite, Texas. In-person attendance on both days is required. Please plan to arrive between 830 and 9 a.m. so that you can get checked in before class each day. The training room is on the second floor. Both stairs and elevator are available for access.

There may be construction nearby on I-635, so please allow extra time to account for this. Parking is free.

Lunch will be provided both days. If you have dietary requirements or restrictions, we suggest you bring your own meal. Drinks and snacks will also be available.

This training is offered at no cost through the sponsorship of the Suicide Prevention and Brain Health Rotary eClub, North Texas Behavioral Health Authority and Military Veteran Peer Network. Training space is provided by Sharing Life Community Outreach.
