Apple Preservation – Pie Filling and Beyond
Kick off the A.P.P.L.E. —Apple Preservation . Planting . Land Education— Project with this hands-on workshop focused on preserving the apple harvest!
You will learn the basics of water bath canning in a hands-on workshop while making apple pie filling, and you will learn about other preservation methods like drying and freezing.
Everyone will take home a jar of the apple pie filling we'll make in class. You will also receive a starter canning kit to continue canning at home.
Pre-registration required. Registration closes on September 14th at 12:00 pm. No refunds.

This is the first in a series of classes through a partnership between the El Paso County Conservation District and Colorado State University Extension, designed to reconnect our community with land-based knowledge, food systems, and the rich heritage of apples in the Pikes Peak region.
