Appell Center Jazz Ensemble - For High School Students

Jazz and improvisational music is one of the Great American Art Forms. Led by Matt Monticchio, the inaugural Appell Center for the Performing Arts Jazz Ensemble gives students the chance to play in small groups and ensembles, tackle lead sheets and improvise solos. The session runs for 10 weeks through the summer, with a public performance in the historic Capitol Theatre on the last day of the session!
Recommended for students entering grades 9 – 12. Students entering grade 8 with teacher recommendation.
RHYTHM SECTION INSTRUMENTS: Please contact [email protected] before registering, as spaces are limited for drums, piano, bass and guitar.
