Librarian and former park ranger, Butch McDade, will present Horace Kephart: Smoky Mountain Writer and Explorer. Kephart lived among the mountaineers for several years, honing his skills as a first-rate outdoorsman and writer. He became a nationally recognized authority on the area with his now classic books "Camping and Woodcraft" (1906) and "Our Southern Highlanders" (1913). Although published over 100 years ago, these books are still in print today.
