About this Event
Program Overview and Objectives:
The Grand Canyon Chapter of the Association for Professionals Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) invites you to attend an all day conference. This program is designed to provide a forum for contemporary methods of infection prevention and control. Presentations will address issues and challenges of Infection Preventionists applicable in a variety of areas and settings.
Additionally, this year there will be a focus on self care and preservation, coping mechanisms and healing from the extreme stress all of us have experienced in one capacity or another over the past 18 months of the pandemic.
Valuable opportunities to network with colleagues will be accessible to conference participants. Exhibitors showcasing the latest products available to enhance infection prevention programs will be present.
This program is designed for Infection Preventionists, nurses and other healthcare professionals interested in infection control, infectious diseases, patient safety and performance improvement.

In order to protect the health and wellness of our members and guests, we respectfully request that all conference attendees provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 via vaccination card, or a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the conference date. During the conference, we will be wearing masks unless eating or drinking. Tables, vendors and any related activities to the conference will also be organized to allow for social distancing.

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (APIC) is a multi-disciplinary voluntary international organization. Its purpose is to influence, support and improve the quality of healthcare through the practice and management of infection control and the application of epidemiology in all health settings.
APIC Grand Canyon was founded in 1982. It is the only APIC chapter in the state of Arizona. With over 170 members, our infection preventionists (IPs) work in various healthcare settings, such as acute care, behavioral health, ambulatory care, and long-term care. Additionally, we have many associate members and industry partners.
Other partners include Arizona Department of Health Services, Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG), Maricopa County Department of Health, and Arizona's Healthcare Associated Infection Advisory Committee.
Our members are dedicated and passionate about our calling to infection prevention, providing ourselves and our healthcare community with an invaluable collaborative infection prevention resource.
