Summary: A panel of supervisors, managers, executives, etc. provide insight on creating effective partnerships between administrative professionals and their managers/teams. We hosted a very successful panel in the fall 2022 and are coordinating another panel with new panelists.

3:30-5:00 | Admin Growth in a DEI Centric World: Building Skills and Awareness

Summary: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) skills are evolving into a foundational competency for administrative professionals. Our world is changing and examples of DEI continue to hit mainstream. What can we do as admins to embrace these changes and be a conduit to better support our leaders and each other? This session will explore DEI by understanding concepts of self-identity, why it matters, the impact we have as admins, and opportunities to take the next step in our own growth.

Summary: This interactive course helps learners identify how they respond to change, identify barriers or resistance to change, and offer tools to successfully navigate change. The course features tools and activities to equip participants to successfully manage change and lead others through change.

11:00-12:00 | Round Table Discussion: Hot Topics in the Admin Profession

Summary: Participants will interact in small groups and utilize collective knowledge and experience to brainstorm solutions from the most requested session topics of the APD 2023 Carolinas Region survey. Participants may have access to optional, preview material on some or all of the following topics: Emotional Intelligence, Project Management, Career Advancement, etc.
Recertification Points: 5+. Must be present during the session to receive certificate. This event will not be recorded.
