It’s time to celebrate and connect again! Architecture of Humanity is 5 years old AND we have a book release!
Please join us in celebrating five years of gathering with the intention of growing the Self through community, as well as Leslie’s book, "How to Date the World: A Simple Guide to Navigating the Complicated Path of Being a Human."
History:
The business of Architecture of Humanity (AoH) was borne out of a request from one of Leslie’s clients. In 2020, we were in the thick of the pandemic and clients were desperately in need of relationship with others—the aspect that makes us so very human. At that point, we’d gone nearly six months in lockdown and were all starting to go a little bit (or a lot) crazy. When we got the green light to gather outdoors, Leslie jumped on it and organized an event at Vivian’s barn (Art, Soul, and Horses).
The Recipe:
On the hottest day of the year—and to our surprise—over 70 people showed up to the event! Some had the look of deer in the headlights, and others were crying—they were so overcome with joy to be with people again. On that fateful day, we moved, breathed, meditated, learned, and sang together. At the end of the day, we all felt an immense shift—some very special had just transpired, although no one could distinctly name it. In reflection today, we can say with certainty that we were simply connected to our humanity. That is how AoH received its name. From that first event, a “recipe” of practices was created for proceeding events: somatics, yoga, kriya, pranayama, and meditation. These practices were all supported and informed by evidence-based education.
Book Release:
This event is also a celebration of Leslie’s first book release, "How to Date the World: A Simple Guide to Navigating the Complicated Path of Being a Human." This book is the prelude, and provides the framework to "Understanding Us," a sourcebook of practices, tools, and protocols that we’ve practiced many times over during our events. This book belongs to Us, as every single person who ever attended an event or workshop contributed a piece of their heart to this project.
