When Rema came onto the scene in 2019, people didn’t know what to call it. Was it Afrobeats? Was it trap? Was it something else entirely? Some said he was too different. Some said he was chasing another market. Some said the Calm Down remix was what “made” him.

Meanwhile, he just kept dropping.

From the early freestyles to Rave & Roses, from global stadium records with Calm Down to boldly resetting the sound with HEIS, Rema never asked for permission. This month at Bassment, we're running it back from 2019 to now!
