ANZAC Cottage 110th Anniversary

The Friends of ANZAC Cottage is pleased to invite you to their 110th birthday celebration on February 15, 2026, from 4 pm to 7 pm. The Friends have organised the celebrations to reflect, where possible, the day 110 years ago when the Mount Hawthorn community came together to build this historic building, the first World War 1 memorial in Western Australia. Amazing to think a house built in one day still stands 110 years later!

Party games and food from the early days, along with craft activities, will be available for everyone, while entertainment will feature the inspiring ANZAC Cottage story told a tad differently, along with many displays to explore, finishing with an old-fashioned singalong accompanied by the hand-operated gramophone and some 1920s classics. And of course, there will be cake.

The Friends of ANZAC Cottage thank the City of Vincent and Bendigo Bank North Perth for their support and encouragement.  And we also thank the Mount Hawthorn Community for joining us, just as the community did in 1916.
