Anywhere: Sack Lunches for Hungry Neighbors 1.20.25

What you'll be doing:

Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by making sack lunches for hungry neighbors. In this project, kids will learn how small acts of kindness can make a lasting impact through a read aloud and age-approprite disucssion. Then helping hands will decorate paper bags and pack 20+ sack lunches to be delivered to neighbors supported by Wheeler Mission's Shelter for Men.

This Anywhere Project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are!

Donations may be delivered between 9am - 4pm on January 20th to Wheeler Mission's Shelter for Men in downtown Indianapolis. Address and instructions are provided in your service packet.

How it all works:

Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. If for some reason you cannot access this file, please email [email protected] for assistance.

The meaning-making:

Engaging children’s hearts and minds before getting their hands active with service is a vital step in raising caring, compassionate humans. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you'll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project's guided discussion focuses on hunger and homelessness.

Approximate Cost:

$30 for 20 lunches. An exact packing list will be included in service packet. All sack lunch bags should include a pre-wrapped PB&J sandwich like an uncrustable, 3 sides, and drink.
