Join us at the ANU Disability Research Network’s 2025 showcase event - Disability Research in Conversation: Celebrating creativity, community, and impact in disability research.

Keynote
Award-winning, multi-disciplinary Artist, Writer, Director and advocate for Deaf and Disabled communities, Sofya Gollan will open the event. A highly respected person in the Australian film industry, Sofya will present on her creative practice-based doctoral research: ‘Silencing Deaf Stories: Hearing Portrayals of Deafness and the use of Sign Language on Contemporary Screens’.

In person attendees will have access to a dedicated quiet space with colouring books and pencils and are welcome to bring or suggest anything else for their comfort. You can register to attend online or in-person. In-person attendees can register for the morning keynote address only (includes morning tea afterwards) or for the full-day program. Catering (vegetarian and vegan) will be provided.
