Jean Anouilh's play Antigone is a tragedy inspired by the play of the same name by Sophocles. Two brothers, Eteocles and Polyneices, have killed each other in battle. Their uncle Creon ascends to the throne and orders that Eteocles be given a state funeral, and Polyneices is to be left outside the city gates to be eaten by wild animals. Anyone trying to bury Polyneices is to be put to death. Antigone, their sister, defies her uncle’s decree. Her passion and strength set her in opposition to Creon, the most powerful man in the world.
Auditions will be Sunday, November 17th and Monday November 18th at Timberlane Community Center, 1902 Naplechase Crest Dr, Spring, TX 77373. Auditions start at 6pm each night. Sign up for a time slot at the link above.
