About this Event
Racism is a pervasive and persistent problem that impacts every aspect of our society and church. How can preachers and the community join forces to challenge and dismantle racism from the pulpit? This course aims to engage students in the practice of community-engaged preaching, with a specific focus on race, racism, and intercultural ministry. It will explore diverse perspectives derived from critical race and postcolonial theories. Students will develop strategies for anti-racist preaching, involving biblical exegesis, critical reading reflection, contextual analysis involving community engagement, and preaching practice. The means of evaluation will include class participation through discussion, community engagement, and preparation and delivery of sermons.
