About this Event
Anthotype – a photographic and environmentally friendly process of making prints with the photosensitive material of plants
In this two-part anthotype workshop led by artist and AAH educator Kristen Bartley, participants will learn how to make sustainable photographic emulsions from plants.
Utilizing foraged plants from our park and common pantry spices, we will create our own light sensitive emulsions from which to coat paper for photographic prints. We will also learn about the history of the anthotype process and view examples of finished prints using found materials and digital negative transparencies.
There is a $10 fee for this program to cover materials expenses.
*This workshop will cover emulsion creation and paper coating only, our follow-up will cover multiple printing methods and best practices.
