About this Event
Enjoy a warm morning of connection, conversation and a delicious breakfast buffet with fellow Women 4 Change contributors, guests and grantees. Hear from keynote speaker Lee Burton on the topic of “The Harder Question of Giving: What Are Communities Really Asking of Us?” and from Yasmeen Ikramullah with an update on the W4C evaluation.
Featured Speaker:
Philanthropy is often framed in terms of how much and where we give. Lee Burton invites us to ask a deeper, more transformative question: what are communities really asking of us at this moment?
Drawing on their experience as Director of Philanthropic Services at MakeWay and as a member of the Right Relations Collaborative, Lee will explore how meaningful giving begins with personal inquiry. The means examining our own histories, leaning into uncomfortable conversations about power and privilege and learning to listen before taking action.
Through real stories, Lee demonstrates that effective philanthropy is less about donating money and more about building trust and showing up in the ways communities ask.
