Paddlers! Let's go burn off that Turkey - or Tofurkey - or whatever excess calories you consumed on Thanksgiving! Most years prior have been super fun, warm and calm. Butcher Jones Recreation Site is the perfect launch beach and post paddle hang-out. Paddle from Butcher Jones Beach to Bagley Flat Campground (approx 8 miles round trip)
It's an incredibly beautiful time of year to be at the lake. The air temps are still warm and the water is cooling off, but not unbearable yet. Brisk is the best word!
This is a free event! If you choose to join us, bring your own gear and enough sustenance to get you through 10-miles of paddling (board, paddle, leash, PFD, water, electrolytes, healthy and hearty snacks) If you need any rental gear, please click the ticket link, there is a fee to rent gear, but everything is included and we bring everything to the meeting spot. We plan to meet at 930 AM and then launch around 10:00 AM. The duration will depend on paddle speed, but we should be back to shore in 4-hours +/-.
BRING TONTO PASSES! I SPOKE TO THE FOREST SERVICE AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM BLACK FRIDAY IS A TONTO FEE FREE DAY FOR 2023!
The paddle is a meet-up and gathering of like minded paddlers. All paddle crafts are welcome! You are responsible for yourself You will absolutely love it!
