Join Belmont Mansion for our Annual Spring Garden Event, taking place the weekend after Memorial Day! Saturday, May 30 at 3 PM, Staci Catron - the Senior Director of the Cherokee Garden Library at the Atlanta History Center - will explore the rich garden heritage of Georgia in Belmont University's Leu Center for the Visual Arts – and the vibrancy historic gardens have for contemporary life. Catron will spotlight public and private gardens from the mid-eighteenth to the early twentieth centuries including nineteenth-century parterres, Colonial Revival gardens, Country Place-era landscapes, rock gardens, and historic town squares.
Following the talk, guests will have the opportunity to tour Belmont's historically inspired gardens with Director of Gardens and Grounds at Belmont University – Melissa Finan-Demalon - showcasing the garden as a treasured, Nashville landmark and part of the historic Belmont Mansion estate. The afternoon concludes with a reception and book signing in The Mansion’s Grand Salon.
As a non-profit, proceeds from this event go towards funding the interpretation, preservation, and restoration of Belmont Mansion. Join us for a historic afternoon knowing you are playing a vital role in allowing us to continue our mission.
