Annual Samhain Ritual and Celebration and Potluck Silent Supper FRIDAY Oct 30th, 7:00PM
Most importantly, Samhain was viewed as a borderline, or liminal, festival as the separation between summer and winter, the light half of the year and darkest time of the year. It was a time when the borders between the worlds were thin and and ritual transitions and sighting of the spirits were expected. Today Samhain still carries this element of liminality.
Our Potluck will be a Silent Supper. Samhain is traditionally known as the night when the veil between our world and the spirit world is at its most fragile. It's the night when we know for sure the dead will hear us speak, and maybe even speak back. It's a time of new beginnings and fond farewells. We will set a place for the Spirits. Please bring a dish to share. Dress in colors of the season and bring mementos of your beloved dead for the altar.
Bring a can of food for @Lifenetforfamilies to represent bringing in the harvest. Love offerings accepted, we provide coffee and tea.
Blessed be - See you soon!
We also collect small used blankets, towels and new dog toys for the strays at Broward County Animal care.
