Join the Australian Information Industry Association’s annual eHealth Update with Richard Taggart, Chief Executive of eHealth NSW and CIO for NSW Health. This update is a must-attend event in the AIIA calendar as Richard directly provides insights into the strategy, priorities, and directions of the departments.

Richard will be joined by Wendy Hoey PSM, recently appointed CEO of the NSW Health Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority. Wendy will provide an update on the Single Digital Patient Record rollout during today’s session.

Richard Taggart

Chief Executive of eHealth NSW

CIO of NSW Health

Richard is a transformative digital health leader with over 20 years of ICT experience, combining a clinical background in Ph*rm*cy with a proven track record across both public and private healthcare organisations.

He started his role on 20 January 2025 and was previously National Director of Digital Health at Calvary Health Care. Richard also served as the Chief Information Officer for Sydney Local Health District (2019 – 2023), leading the Digital Health and Innovation team and overseeing major initiatives including the NSW Health Vaccination Centre systems and the RPA Virtual Hospital.

Wendy Hoey PSM

Chief Executive

Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority

Wendy was appointed the Chief Executive of the Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority in September 2026.

Prior to this, she served as Chief Executive of Justice Health NSW where she led the first NSW Health organisation to go live with the SDPR in March 2026.

Wendy's previous appointments include Executive Director of Clinical Operations at Justice Health NSW, Executive Director for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service and Nursing Director for the Central Queensland Mental Health Service.

Wendy is a registered nurse with a clinical background in Mental Health Nursing and over 25 years' experience as a senior leader in mental health, hospital executive and health in secure settings. She is passionate about providing high-quality care in all settings and is excited about how this once-in-a-generation transformational program will improve how healthcare is experienced and delivered in NSW.
