Annual Northern California Dragon Boat Festival

The festival is expected to draw 30+ teams, over 1,000 paddlers, and an estimated 2,000 spectators across the weekend — creating meaningful foot traffic and regional visitation while supporting nearby businesses and activating public space. At a pivotal moment for San Francisco’s continued revitalization, this event reflects the energy, diversity, and resilience of our city.
The Marin Chinese Cultural Association will once again have our own team to participate in the Friendship Races. We are currently looking for new crew members to join the award-winning MCCA Marin Dragons Team for the upcoming event at Lake Merced.
Only requirements*:
1) Current MCCA members;
2) All ages 16 and up are welcome;
3) Participate in 2 practices with experienced coaches at Lake Merced (dates to be announced);
4) Participate on the day of the race at Lake Merced in San Francisco on June 20, 2026;
5) No paddling experience required, just bring your team spirit & enthusiasm!
There will also be a registration fee of approx. $50 for a team t-shirt and refreshments on race day.
