On Saturday, January 4th the SLO Throwers will be hosting our annual fundraising tournament at Laguna Lake DGC! Help us continue growing and improving our courses!
Tournament format will be one round of singles with 27 total holes. If we have 3 or more players per skill level, we will have 6 different divisions to sign up for as follows:
1. Amateur
2. Advanced
3. Open
4. Ladies
5. 40+
6. 50+
Sign-ups and registration are from 8:30-9:30 AM with a player’s meeting at 9:40, and a shotgun start at 10:00. PLEASE be on time, we can only accommodate so much for late entries. We’ll be meeting at the gazebo/BBQ area located on the back half of the course between the basket for 10 and the tee pad for 11. Please park respectfully and responsibly, parking for players WILL NOT be available at the gazebo. We recommend occupying all marked spots before parking along the road.
After the round is over Eat Gas smash burgers will be for sale on site! For those of you who have never had one before, you haven't lived yet! Geoff is a local and fellow disc golf player and will be selling his incredible burgers for a couple hours for us!
Option Discs will also be on site selling plastic and accessories for all your disc golf needs.
Membership renewals include:
• A new club tag
• A new 2025 SLO Throwers T-shirt
• Discounted entry fees for all Tuesday and Saturday weeklies
• Ability to buy-in to the $4 members-only ace pot at each weekly
Membership fees up until after the tournament will be $45. If you buy your membership any time after the tourney takes place the pricing will increase to $50. We accept cash, check, or any of the major payment apps (Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, PayPal, etc,.).
The buy-in for the tournament will be $10 on top of membership fees, all of which will go to payouts. This money will be awarded to at least 1st place, and up to 4th place depending on the number of participants in your division.
The Laguna AND Sinsheimer ace pots will be combined and available for this tournament, and both the $1 and $4 ace pots will be available. Currently the combined $1 pots are at $267, and the combined $4 pots are at $868!
Normally the $1 pot is a community pot; for this tournament only, these pots are both for 2025 MEMBERS ONLY. As long as no one hits an ace at Laguna or Sinsheimer in a weekly before the 4th, that amount will only increase. (Ace pot buy-ins day of the tournament will be added to the total of the combined pots after the last weekly before the renewal drive.)
To sum it up:
• Full buy-in with both ace pots is a total of $60
• Buy-in with no ace pots is $55
• Just the membership is $45 (until after the tournament at which point they will be $50).
After the round we will have a raffle for assorted prizes! We will also have a Ring of Fire putting competition with a grand prize of a brand-new MVP 24-Chain LITE Black Hole Basket. This is a group putting competition where everyone putts at once from the edge of circle one. If you make a putt first round you move on to the next and so forth, last person standing wins! We will also have at least 1 hole during the round with a CTP competition for a prize.
