The Waco Iris Society was founded in 1959. We currently have a great group of energetic and enthusiastic members who love to promote the diversity and beauty of the Iris. Our annual Iris Show provides our members with an opportunity to showcase this beauty to the public, as we present our best blooms for judging by a panel of American Iris Society judges. They are judged according to a point scale for each of the different Sections, whether it be the ever-popular Tall Bearded varieties, the small Medians, Louisianas, Spurias, or other lesser-grown varieties which can endure our Texas summers. The one iris which shows the highest degree of cultural perfection will be crowned Queen of Show. Everyone is eligible to enter. You do not have to be a member. There is no entry fee.
