Annual GingerBread Contest

Gingerbread Kits will be available for pick up Dec. 3rd in the Community Office on the 2nd floor; pick up begins at 10 am and ends at 4pm 

"Sweet Creativity & Team Collaboration Challenge!"

Welcome to the Gingerbread Contest!

We're excited to see what sweet, creative, and collaborative creations you and your team can come up with. This contest is all about having fun, showcasing teamwork, and spreading some holiday cheer throughout the office. So grab your aprons and get decorating! 🍪

1. Team Formation

Team Size: Teams must consist of at least 2 people but we encourage your entire company to participate.

Collaboration: Teamwork is key! We encourage you to divide the tasks and work together, but remember, the final creation should reflect everyone’s ideas and contributions.

2. Theme

Gingerbread Creation: Your gingerbread house or structure should fit within the theme of "Winter Wonderland" or "Holiday Movie." Bonus! Adding an Element that represents your brand and or company.

  - Feel free to incorporate elements like snowmen, trees, festive decorations, or even the office itself!

The sky’s the limit, but please keep it family-friendly and office-appropriate.

3. Materials

Building Blocks: You must use at least one gingerbread element from the kit (cookie, house base, etc.), but beyond that, you can be as creative as you like with other edible items (candy, frosting, chocolate, etc.).

Decorations: Non-edible materials like cotton balls, fabric, or string lights are allowed, but they should be used sparingly. The focus should be on edible decorations!

4. Structure Guidelines

Dimensions: Your gingerbread creation should fit within a 12” x 12” space.

Creativity & Detail: The more intricate and detailed your creation, the better!

Bonus points for imaginative design and use of materials.

5. Judging Criteria 

A panel of judges; IE Thrive Team, Brooke, Marc & Monica will evaluate each gingerbread creation based on:

Creativity & Theme: How well does your gingerbread structure embody the winter/holiday theme?

• Have fun with including Company Branding even add your company QR code to market your gingerbread

Collaboration: How well did your team work together to create a cohesive design?

Overall Presentation: Aesthetic appeal, including how neat and polished your creation looks.

Use of Materials: Innovative use of ingredients, decorations, and building techniques.

6. Fun & Fairness

Team Spirit: Remember, this contest is all about fun and collaboration. Don't hesitate to share ideas and help each other out, even if you’re working on separate tasks. 

Good Sportsmanship: Celebrate the creativity of all teams, and keep the atmosphere light-hearted and supportive. This is a no-stress zone!

7. Submission & Display

**Deadline:** All gingerbread creations must be submitted and placed on display by December 11th. Late entries will not be considered for judging.

**Display Area:** All completed creations will be displayed in the common area kitchen island or a designated area for everyone to admire and vote on (if voting is part of the contest).

8. Voting 

- Each team will be given 3 votes (colored straws) to cast for their favorite gingerbread houses (you cannot vote for your team).

- Voting will take place on December 11th and winners will be announced at 5.30pm.

9. Prizes

Award Categories:

There will be prizes for:

•   Most Creative Design
•   Best Team Spirit
•   Fan Favorite(based on voting)
•   Best in Show(Overall Winner)

10. Rules for Fun

Embrace the Chaos: Things may get messy—and that’s okay! Just remember to keep it light and fun.

Take Photos: Document your gingerbread journey with pictures and share them on our internal Slack channel #communitydiscussion!

Spread Cheer: This is the season of giving, so don’t forget to share a smile, a good laugh, and maybe even some candy with your colleagues while you're building!
