About this Event
The Florida Black Author Summit returns for its second annual literary convening, bringing together Black authors, aspiring writers, educators, youth, and book lovers for an intentional afternoon of empowerment, strategy, and community.
Hosted by Brittany Ellis of 2BE Well Therapy inside Cafe Resistance, a Black-owned bookstore rooted in culture and conversation, this three-hour summit is designed to elevate Black voices across all genres while strengthening ownership and visibility within publishing.
What to Expect:
• A dynamic panel discussion featuring authors across fiction, nonfiction, poetry, children’s books, memoir, academic writing, and more
• Interactive workshops on publishing, marketing, and monetizing your message
• A youth writing lab and open mic opportunity
• Structured networking with authors and attendees
• On-site book sales and author signings
• Food and smoothies available for purchase from Cafe Resistance
Whether you are an established author, an aspiring writer, a parent raising readers, or someone who simply values Black storytelling, this summit offers education, connection, and inspiration.
This is more than an event. It is a space where stories become strategy, creativity becomes ownership, and community becomes legacy.
