DESCRIPTION
Step into the iconic Brooklyn Navy Yard and discover its 220+ year history of industry and innovation by exploring more than 40 open studios and factories where you will meet a diverse array of artists, entrepreneurs, craftspeople, and urban manufacturers. As you wander through the sprawling 300+ acre campus, enjoy live music, a variety of food and drink, guided tours, and opportunities to buy bespoke and artisanal goods directly from makers. With more than 70 historic and modern buildings and 3 miles of working waterfront, the Yard stands as a national model for adaptive reuse, job creation, and cultural advancement. A full list of open studios, pop-up marketplaces, and activities will be announced on October 1!
This event is part of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation’s OPEN Series. The series opens the gates to the Yard and provides the public with one-on-one opportunities to explore the site and meet directly with the entrepreneurs and innovators that continue the campus's legacy of industry and innovation. Events are low-key, open format, and designed to bring diverse people and communities together to learn about the Yard past, present, and future.
